Ultimate Lime Review by Tamara

The entrance to the Ultimate Lime venue at the Hyatt was very modern and tropical, providing a glimpse of what was ahead.  The Hyatt is a waterfront property and the party took place outside.  Once we entered the waterfront area, we were greeted by 6 servers holding trays of hors d'oeuvres.  The view of the water was beautiful especially when the sun started to set.  Everyone looked nice in all white with a touch of lime green.  The set up was very nice and the ambiance was beautiful.

The food and drink selection was expansive, everything your heart and belly desired… traditional Trini food, Chinese food, roti,  Richard’s bake and shark, Haagen Dazs station, Johnny Walker station, Yellowtail Station, Nuvo Station, Patron station, Absolut station and the list goes on.  There was a large circular bar with many bartenders to serve you from every side.  In addition to this bar and drink stations previously mentioned, there was also another specialty mixed drinks bar and general bar that was located near the food stations.

I was prepared for a very reserved and stoosh evening… a “see and be seen” kind of crowd but when the show started, all reservations were gone.  Ravi B, David Rudder and Denise Belfon put on a great show but it was the performance by Kes that had the crowd in a frenzy… waving, wining and just getting on wotless.  However, there was still a stoosh crowd that hung back away from the stage area but that didn’t stop the real party crowd from having a time.  There was also a water light show that took place between performances that was beautiful to watch.

After the show was over, the riddim section started jamming and drew the crowd around them.  We jammed for about another hour with them until the party was over. Ultimate Lime was the best all-inclusive fete that I attended.  The price tag was a bit steep but it was worth every cent and I certainly got my money’s worth.  This fete is definitely on my fete list for C2K12.  I just hope they don’t raise the price.
